WHAT A DAY

Sally was chasing Kaitlyn around the house trying to get her picture. We don't live in a very big house but, Kaity was still able to out maneuver Sally.

We got Kaitlyn's 2 year old pictures done today. She did a very good job of smiling. In the past , we always had a hard time with her getting her pictures. She wouldn't cooperate or she would be in a foul mood and cry. The pictures were done very quickly because she done so well. It was just hard choosing which ones we wanted. When she doesn't do as well it's easier picking them out cause there are only a few good ones to choose from. This time they were all good. After we got our pictures we went back to my mother in laws and finished cutting her grass. We got Zachary from his Grandma cause it was grandparents day at his school. We then went to Michigan City to get them some sandals and some other things they needed. When we were going to Michigan City we got stuck in some major traffic. Both sides of the 94 were at a stand still. We knew that there must have been an accident. We weren't moving at all for about15-20 mins. The west bound side there was no cars going by at all so I knew what happened must have been bad. Finally we started to move and I noticed all the lights and there was a helicopter from some Illinois hospitals sitting on the expressway. As we got closer we saw what looked like about 3-4 people laying on the road, but I didn't notice any cars that looked like they were wrecked. Zachary asked Sally if we "could say a prayer for the people".Sally said absolutely so we said a few prayers for them. Then Zachary started to cry and we asked him what was wrong. He said he was thinking about if his mommy or his daddy would die. It almost made me cry. Zach doesn't express his feelings that often. We told him if he ever had to talk about anything that he could talk to his mom and dad, and we would listen to what he had to say.

I have a story about my mother in law. This little dandy happened the day before I got married to my wife Sally. It was June 12TH 1998 Friday. It was somewhat of a hectic day. My mother in laws( Mary) car was being worked on. So I let her use my car for what she needed it for. I am not sure were she was at but, she couldn't figure out how to get out of my car. Like I said I don't know were she was but she was being held hostage by my 1994 Pontiac Grand Am. She was sitting in the car not knowing what to do. Then finally a total stranger came walking by the car and she got there attention. She asked the stranger if they could help her to be freed by my criminally insane car. She rolled down the window and gave the keys to the person who then unlocked the car from the outside, freed at last. Mary is a wonderful person and would do anything for anyone. Every time I think about this story it it brings a smile to my face. I have a few stories about my mom to that I will tell one day. My mom and my mother in law Mary have done allot together in the past. They were like Thelma and Louise back in the day.

Thank you to everyone for all the prayers and support.

Update on the I-94 traffic jam. There was an 11 year old runaway that jumped from his legal guardian Grandmothers car. He was not hit by any cars but, was air lifted to Chicago hospital. The Grandmother noticed what he was doing and did slow the car down to about 45mph at the time he leaped. I guess the Grandmother picked him up in Michigan City and was taking him home. So I don't know what I was looking at I know I saw about 3 people laying on the ground.

Kaity wants to give everyone a big kiss for all the support and prayers that everyone is giving her Daddy. No she is not intoxicated, She is just tired and ready for beddy bye. She spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful day with her Mommy and Daddy today. She helped her Mommy to pick out flowers to plant in the yard. This is something we do every year around Mothers Day. We also went to Grandma Booma's Today and mowed most of her yard until the down pour and did some other minor work in the yard. Days like today bring the green thumb out of me.

Earlier In the day I went to Avery and visited with some of my co- workers. Hey, Akiya
PURR PURR.( You had to be there) It was really nice to talk with Dan B. and Akiya. Getting the low down on the happenings at work. It's really nice to see everyone and all the concerns and well wishes everyone shows me when I am there is really touching and I appreciate it. I hope to be back as soon as I am able. The CT Scan that I'm having on the 12Th may weigh in when that may be.

I want to tell everyone a little story about the time when Sally and I were dating. This was when I was working at a dairy products plant in Chicago, I was working midnights. On one particular night I was going to work. I got in my car and there was a cup of freshly brewed coffee from Borders books. I knew right away that my future wife placed it in there for me. She was always doing things for me like that. It was a night that was raining outside a little bit, so I turned on my wipers and there was a twig stuck to my wiper blade. I thought "oh man" and figured I would just leave it since it wasn't obstructing my view. I thought it would just fall off eventually. I called Sally to thank her for the coffee. We were talking for awhile and she said isn't there anything else you want to tell me, I said 'no'. She's like what about the rose. I said
'OH HELLLL NO!( I actually said this to myself) I really said " Oh yes, the rose thank you very much I love you". By the time I got to work it was a twig. I did tell her eventually, about three months later.

I want to thank everyone for the support and the prayers. Myself and my family really appreciate the outpouring of support. God bless you all.

The
CUBS are leading in the 6th 4-2 against the Astros and the Sox look like they will win leading the Tigers 6-0 in the 9th

Today was a very trying day at first. I was very nervous. Deep down I knew that everything would be ok but, still in the back of my mind I was like what if. The doctor said there wasn't anything major to report. The only thing he said I had was Diverticulitis. This is when I have pockets and certain things that I may eat like peanuts could get caught in these pockets and cause an infection. It is non cancerous but, could cause pain with the infection. With medication everything should be ok.It is a total relief that this is out of the way. Now if I get good news from my CT on Tuesday I Will do cartwheels in the yard. I don't know how to do them but, think that is a good day as any to learn.

I think the Doctor pushed to many of my butt-ons. When I came home I took a little nap and when I woke up just wanted to do stuff around the house.I played with the kids, cleaned up the yard and driveway. I wanted to do more but started to talk to our neighbors about things that we want or would like to do to the house. We were talking to them for a long time and then realized that it was 8pm and we didn't eat dinner yet. KFC had the free skinless chicken dinner(limit 4 per family) special going on so we went there. When we went there of course they were very busy, and the dinning area was a total mess. So we decided that it would be a long wait plus no where to sit and eat in at a clean table so we left and ate at MD'S. We will have to go right after school next time perhaps to get better service.

The other day when I was waiting to pick up Zach from school I took Kaity to the playground area to play. She really loves the slide. It was a very nice day and she was going down the slide and one time I heard her say "OUCH HOT". I said "yes its hot".When she got off the slide she started to blow on it to cool it off.Sally and I told her if her food was ever hot to blow on it. I never thought she would blow on a slide.

I am going to quit for now. I need to spend some time with my lady.I all in all feel really, really good. Sally and I have to go and get Kaity her 2 year old picture tomorrow. She turned two on the 9th so we need to do this.Until tomorrow and God be with all of you. I love the comments keep them coming.
Bill will be posting later. He is outside with the kids right now. I just wanted to leave a quick update for those who might be wondering how things went today. Everything went well. No polyps or tumors were found.

Oprah.com has a link for a free KFC dinner. You can get 4 coupons per computer. They have to be printed out tonight before midnight.

Here we go again

Today I woke up and didn't want to think about food. Tomorrow is my Colonoscopy and I can not eat anything, only clear liquids. I went and took Kaity to the park for a little while, to try and keep my mind off of food. I am taking the Osmoprep pills, those things are huge. Hold on I'll be right back.( I'm back) I want to finish what I didn't yesterday, but because I am so hungry I don't know that would be wise. I might just go out and plant seeds. I am really nervous because of what happened last time. Hold on I'll be right back.( I'm back) So I am hoping for good news this time. I am scheduled for a CT Scan on the 12Th of May. That is 2 days before my 6Th chemo session. Again I hope I get news that it is at least not getting worse. If I don't hear what I want to hear I don't know what I would do. I leave everything in Gods hand. Hold on I'll be right back. ( I'm back )Since I feel hungry I really don't have the mind frame to do it. All I want to do is lay around and sit outside. Although I did cut some branches off the trees that are in our front yard, I least I did accomplish that.

My dinner today will be the WintoGreeniest Life Savers hard candy that I can sniff. Yes, I do sniff each and every bag to make sure I smell what I pay for. Later I may splurge and have some Jello that is the most wiggly. ( being wiggly is very important to me)Hold on I'll be right back.(I'm back) For dessert I will have Popsicles ,which I won't enjoy cause they will be to
COLD. My beverages of choice will be apple juice that came from the apple trees that Johnny Appleseed planted his self. If all goes well tomorrow Sally and I are going to have lunch somewhere.

Who is Johnny Appleseed: His real name was John Arthur Chapman. Hold on I'll be right back(I'm back) he lived between 1774and 1845. Was born in Leominster Massachusetts. He was a guy who was bored one day and decided to go for a walk. That walk made him end up in Indiana. Along the way he was planting apple seeds. He died at the age of 74.

Please keep me in your prayers so that everything is fine and there are no new issues. Thanks for visiting my blog and God bless you all. Hold on I'll be right back( I'm back) Tomorrow Sally will probably do the blog cause I don't know how I will be feeling., besides I can't type standing up.

Better ,better day

Last couple of days kicked my butt. Today I felt better. I woke up this morning motivated to get yard work done. Plus, I have a project to do at Sally's mom. I went to Lowe's to pick up stuff for her house. Sally cut the grass which gave me time to do work on our yard. I am hoping to plant seeds in the next couple of days, mainly Sun Flower seeds for Zachary. Tomorrow, I am planning to go to my mom in laws to help her out.

Not much more to say about the day. The Cubs and Sox will play later on tonight. The Cubs are on a three game winning streak Only the second time all year they have won three in a row. The Sox are on a two Game losing streak.
We are going to a have a search party tonight for Zachary's glasses. He has no idea where he put them at. So I guess I will do the dinner menu tonight for those of you that miss it. We will still do it on occasion.

My stomach still isn't 100% from chemo. Meats do not sound good to me at all. I wanted to have a light meal. Sally with love made tortellini soup. It consisted of freshly chopped sweet onion and garlic which were simmered in olive oil until translucent. The lightest vegetable broth was used. Along with fresh vine ripped chopped tomatoes, sweet crispy carrots, the freshest spinach we could fine chopped, fresh basil, tarragon, chopped parsley and a pinch of pepper. Simmered under low heat until all the flavors blended so tastefully. Fresh delicate tortellini which was made from the perfect blend of five cheeses was carefully added. Lastly, freshly grated Parmesan, Romano, and Asiago cheese was sprinkled on top of each serving. Each and every bite was bursting with flavor which made my taste buds practically jump out of my mouth with gratification.

I am going to stop here. Zach needs help with his homework and with everything else I need to do before I go to bed. it's may be a while before I go to bed. Tomorrow I will be have to start my fasting to be prepared for the fun on Wednesday. I hope he takes longer than it did the last time. Not because I enjoyed it but because of the great news I received.
God Bless you all.

Bill is exhausted so I told him I would write the blog today. We have been on the go all day. We went to mass this morning. After mass we took the kids to Buckley Homestead Park. They had WWII reenactment. It was really nice. Bill, Michael and Zachary went last year. I was surprised about the amount of detail that was involved. There was a battle and the kids enjoyed watching that. There was a lot of walking. Kaitlyn did not want to go into the stroller. Hope her little legs don't hurt her tonight.

On the way home we stopped and visited Bill's friend Dan and his family. His wife, Tina, made delicious peanut butter cookies. Kaitlyn gave all of them a kiss when we left. Usually, she is very selective with her kisses.

Even though Bill is really tired, this has been the best weekend he has had so far after his chemo treatment, praise God. I just hope he didn't over do it and is able to get some rest tomorrow. With him being tired, it's nice for me in a way. I don't have to share the computer with him tonight. He use to tease me all the time about the amount of time I would spend on line. Now with him blogging, twittering and using face book he spends much more time on line than I do. Some days I go through computer withdrawal. He says that I created a monster getting him hooked on everything.

Today I slept most of the early part of the day with the exception of Zachary's soccer game. I really didn't get much sleep last night. I woke up this morning feeling sick. I attribute that to lack of sleep. I really didn't sleep to well the night before as well. Last night I went to the CarmeliteMonetary and didn't get home from that until a little after 2:30 in the morning. Than Kaitlyn woke up at 6:30 am crying and she wanted her Daddy. So I took her in the living room and just cuddled her for about 20 mins and then she was ready to go back to sleep. Then a few hours after that is when I woke up feeling queasy.I just laid there a while until it was time to get Zachary ready for his soccer game. I played with the kids a little when we got home. The soccer game was a very good game, Zachary's team won, even though we aren't suppose to keep score but, we all do. After my afternoon nap I woke up at about 5pm and than went and got the pump taken out. I got home from that and Sally started to make dinner. Dinner was nachos that we ate while watching Hotel for Dogs with Kaitlyn and Zachary. I still feel very tired and will go to sleep earlier today and will try to go to the 7:30 mass in the morning.

The Cubs won again today against the Marlins 6-1 hopefully this is the start of a winning streak. Sox are in the 3rd inning and so far no score.

I am going to stop here, like I am was saying I am tired and need to get the rest. I hope to have a more interesting blog tomorrow. Take care and god Bless.

Update the Sox are now losing 6-1 bottom of the 4th against the Rangers

Brush with greatness?

Michael and our neighbor today at prom.

Today I stayed in bed until about 10am cause I wanted to be well rested before I and my buddies head out to the Cubs game. I felt really good today. I just had a little tightness in my legs every time I got up from sitting. It would go away after a few minutes.

Now to the game,it started out like it was going to be a blow out against the Cubs. After 4 innings it was Florida 5 and the Cubs 1. Rich Hardin definitely didn't have his stuff. He was taken out after 3.2 innings. After the 5th inning the Marlins took there starter out (Graham Taylor). The Cubs couldn't do anything with him. So I really don't know why he left the game. When the Marlins went to there bull pen that's when the Cubs started to hit. Ryan Theriot got a Grand Slam in the 6Th inning to put the cubs up by 1 run. They scored 3 more runs later to take the game 8-6. Throughout the game there were numerous opportunities to get foul balls that were hit near us. My friend Dan had a great chance to get one if only it wasn't hit in the upper level 30 ft to the left of us and about 10 rows back. Dan said we could have got that one. Yes, if it wasn't in the upper level 30 ft to the left or 10 rows back. If it wasn't for all that it would have plopped right into our hands. Better luck next time I guess.

At the Game Denise Richard was there( Charlie Sheen's ex-Dancing with the stars cast off) for Cancer research donations. I am some what of a autograph hound, so I figured what the heck. I would give her a donation and get an autograph. I started to make my way over to her and cutting through the 10 or 12 people that were all around her. I took a look at her and then hers eyes met mine. She got up from her chair and I thought that she was going to give me a big hug for coming over to support her cause. As I was getting ready for the embrace she made a quick left and slid away from me. I was like what the heck, and away she went looking back at me and smiling. No,wonder why Charlie Sheen divorced you and you were booted off dancing with the stars. Then when we went to our seats, there was Wayne Messmer. He is the announcer for the Chicago Black Hawks and the Bulls. He was next to us talking to another guy in the next section over. When he was done we called him over and he talked with us a little. He gave Tom's son Cody an autograph. I didn't need one I got one when I went to the Cubs Convention a few years ago. He is a very personable person.

Now I am going to let you know of a time when my son Michael almost got to meet Sammy Sosa or at least he thought. It was around 2001 a few years after the Mark and Sammy's HR show season. It was after a game the Cubs had with the Astros that the Cubs won handily. After the game I like to go to the parking lot were the Cubs players park. We saw a lot of players leave like Kerry Wood, Kyle Farnsworth he has a nice Hummer, Todd Hundley, and Joe Girardi to name a few. They were signing a little but, we didn't get anybody until Jon Lieber came out and signed for everyone waiting. He was a very nice guy to do all that. I also got a player named Courtney Duncan before the game on the field. After the Lieber signing we went back to our area to wait for hopefully more. All of a sudden there was a yell there is Sosa there is Sosa. There was a Black Taxi driver coming down the street from the side of the parking lot. I told Michael that Sammy Sosa was driving the taxi and that he should have a good chance of getting his autograph.I told him that he probably didn't want to be noticed so that is why he is driver the taxi. Being the trusting boy of what his father says he run up to the taxi cab and put his autograph material in this guys face. He looks at the group of us with a look of whats going on and we all said sign for the kid Sammy. So the taxi driver took the paper and scribbled on the paper. I should ask Michael if he still has the paper it could be worth thousands now. He came back to a chuckling crowd. I told him not to be sad you will do this to your kids one day. Now he is doing it to his brother Zachary. We did wait a few more minutes and out came the real Sammy Sosa not the taxi one. He got into his yellow Camaro and zipped out of the parking lot. I was surprise he didn't hit anybody, and that was that then we left. I told Michael that maybe some day that taxi driver may be famous and you have his autograph.

So that was my day a very great day indeed. Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you like the little stories I tell. God Bless you all and have a great week end.

Sally and I are planning to go to the all night first Friday vigil at Carmelite Monastery around 12 am. if we are able to. They have this every first Friday of every month.
