Anyhow, glad to see you in remission and hope you can come back to work soon. Take care.

Phil B.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3819275549213278369.post-26067469117551644272009-07-19T00:20:35.477-05:002009-07-19T00:20:35.477-05:00Hi Bill,
Hope your doing great, bro.
He...Hi Bill,
Hope your doing great, bro.

Hey, I just had to let you know, the Bible never says, "God doesn't give more then we can handle." In fact, quite often, God gives us tragedy and trials that nearly destroy us. The verse people often use in a bit of a distortion is:

1 Corinthians 10:13 (English Standard Version)

13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man.(A) God is faithful, and(B) he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

and Paul was actually warning people about being tempted:

The verse that people have in mind when they say this actually has to do with temptation. Paul is warning the Corinthians against idolatry and immorality like that engaged in by the Israelites in the desert (1 Cor.10:6-11).

1 Corinthians 10:6-11 (English Standard Version)

6Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as(A) they did. 7(B) Do not be idolaters(C) as some of them were; as it is written,(D) "The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play." 8(E) We must not indulge in sexual immorality(F) as some of them did, and(G) twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. 9We must not put Christ[a] to the test,(H) as some of them did and(I) were destroyed by serpents, 10nor grumble,(J) as some of them did and(K) were destroyed by(L) the Destroyer. 11Now these things happened to them as an example, but(M) they were written down for our instruction,(N) on whom the end of the ages has come.

Millions of people have experineced suffering beyond what mortal man can withstand. But God will not allow us to be tempted so that we cannot call on Him to help us resist that temptation.

Just had to throw that out there.

:-)Dan Blankenshiphttp://www.danblankenship.comnoreply@blogger.com
